In a world of noise and forgetting, one voice rises to remember. A philosopher-poet, selector of tunes, and architect of this website, moves between rhythm and reflection, inviting us to listen deeper.

A Rare Live Performance On Stage

About LivingHopenism.org

Welcome to LivingHopenism, a rhythm-based portal for reflection, agency, and creative growth. This space documents the evolving journey of John T. Hope, a philosopher-poet, carpenter, and mental health advocate whose life has been shaped by economic forces, spiritual insight, and the healing power of words.

Originally from Manchester, John moved to London in 1999 to work as a self-employed carpenter. At age 42, following the 2008 economic crash, he experienced a mental episode that sparked a radical transformation. Diagnosed bipolar, not with a disorder, but as a philosopher, John began writing compulsively. His calligraphy becomes both ritual and rehabilitation.

Through self-education and poetic transmission, John has authored four major works:

  • Omni’s Wordsmith Mantra: A spiritual manuscript exploring love, relationships, and divinity beyond dogma
  • The Whistling Wind: A memoir confronting economic exploitation, mental health, and the search for meaning
  • The Chronicles of the Fallen Heroes (forthcoming), a reflection on legacy, struggle, and redemption
  • A Philosopher's Vignettes: A collection of philosophical short stories, fables and poetic prose on the human experience
  • Plus weekly scrolls, mixes, and rhythm pages that form the living archive of Hopenism

John’s writing is not just personal—it’s civic. He advises the NHS Mental Health Department, curates soulful mixes rooted in Caribbean and British urban traditions, and builds tools for user-led group organisation.
